Summer will never be complete without fun and flaunting at the beach...

It was half past nine in the evening when we arrived at the BREDCO port in Bacolod. Our vacation buddies arrived from Manila, and banker friend just finished work before the 4-day holiday. We paid arrastre of not more than 400.00 per vehicle, then waited for our turn for the cars to be loaded at Tri-Star roll on roll off barge. There were about 4 trucks and more than 16 vans and cars...with more than half of the vehicles off to Aklan, each van charged 900.00 plus. Fourteen of us went up to take our seats in an air-conditioned jam packed room with perhaps more than 30 bankers, and families ready for the vacation. Aimee was charged P30.00,  Marc my son still a student paid 50.00 while I  representing the adult class was charged P60.00 for the fare.  We left Bacolod at 11 in the evening and arrived at Dumangas, IloIlo at around one in the morning. The moment we got out of the barge we drove directly to Aklan and reached Kalibo by 4 in the morning. Surprisingly, you will not find a coffee shop after Passi City. The road network in Iloilo (National Road) is so bad and dusty, when you reach Aklan though, it’s all well paved and newly painted lines which leads you to your destination . . . we chanced upon a Fortuner who drove so fast and attempted to overtake us three times only to stop in intersections, well obviously the driver did not know which way to go. Signages were scarce and it would take an experienced driver to know how to get to Kalibo. It was a fast ride with lesser vehicles on the road , just be very careful with drunkards walking in the middle of the road . At Kalibo we did a pee stop at the nearby Shell gasoline station, there were no 24-hour shops around so we decided to drive straight to Caticlan and by 6:45 in the morning we were already lining up for our tickets...oh yeah little Aimee had a free boat ticket and environmental fee –being  the youngest in the group at 7. The boat ticket is only P25.00 while you have to pay for Environmental Fee of 75.00 and another Terminal fee of P50.00 or practically a total of P150.00/per tourist. Just ten minute boat ride to the island,they strictly impose on the compulsory wearing of life vest on board ---from the jetty port ,  we took a pedicab @ P20.00 per person to La Carmela Resort.

La Carmela de Boracay has improved a lot,  they served welcome drinks for our group, we got our keys in five minutes and deposited 2,000 for incidental expenses which is refundable the moment we check out. The room had twin beds, a safety deposit box and refrigerator plus cable television, wifi is available with special rates for the business class or facebook enthusiast.

We walked to D’Mall for breakfast , and explored the beachfront – there are street food push carts, like shawarma and barbecued potato chips, and there are more ATMs available in the island.  We visited Tim Ticar of the DOT-Boracay Sub-Office and also met Bacolod’s Vice Mayor Thaddy Sayson and family taking time off from work for the Holy Week.

There are so many visitors this time of the year in the island and prices are at Super Peak Rates...its good we paid for our accommodation in advance.

We walked with so many tourist flaunting their bodies covered with latest bikini styles, name your size they are all here fat or thin , chubby or skinny, extra small to five xl... some having their body massage at the beach front, others having henna tattoo or simply having their hairs braided @ 150.00 to 200.00 depending on the length of your hair...most of the young ones tagged along their cameras and took pictures all around. This is the time of the year when good looking actors and actresses come , this afternoon tables have been set up for dinner at the beach front and bars near station 2 are getting ready for tonight.

Shopping is also fun for friends here, bora bracelets , pens, key chains, swim wear, sarong, pearls, i love boracay shirts plus you meet fire dancers perform , watch The Boss band up close and personal (hahahah guards cordoned off the long haired lead singer who went to the alley to sing) , each area in Boracay had  a party - bands, sexy dancers entertained guests, so many freebees from C2, Havaianas floaters, Belo’s sun block, and cigarettes.

I noticed some youngsters collecting empty water bottles, and tourist police so visible , sure was fun fun fun.

summer time will never be complete without a drive to the best beach in the land...Boracay.
